محادثة بينك و بين صديق عن ماذا كنت تعمل عندما اتصل بك تليفونيا أمس

This dialogue focuses on the use of the both the past continuous and past simple.

هذه المحادثة  تركز  على استخدام كلا من الماضي المستمر والماضي البسيط.

 

What Were You Doing? ماذا كنت تفعل؟

 

Betsy: I telephoned you yesterday afternoon but you didn't answer? Where were you?

بيتسي: اتصلت بك هاتفيا بعد ظهر أمس لكنك لم تجب؟ أين كنت؟

 

 Brian: I was in another room when you called. I didn't hear the phone ringing

  بريان: كنت في غرفة أخرى عندما قمت بالاتصال بي. لم أسمع رنين الهاتف.

Betsy: What were you working on?

بيتسي: ماذا كنت تعمل ؟

Brian: I was photocopying a report that I needed to send to a client. What were you doing when you telephoned?

بريان: كنت أقوم بتصوير تقرير كنت بحاجة لإرساله إلى عميل. ماذا كنت تفعل عندما اتصلت هاتفيا؟

Betsy: I was looking for Tom and couldn't find him. Do you know where he was?

بيتسي: كنت أبحث عن توم وتعذر العثور عليه. هل تعرف أين كان؟

 Brian: Tom was driving to a meeting.

  بريان: توم كان يقود السيارة  إلى اجتماع.

Betsy: Oh, I see. What did you do yesterday?

بيتسي: نعم، أنا ارى. ماذا فعلت بالأمس؟

Brian: I met the representatives from Driver's in the morning. In the afternoon, I worked on the report and was just finishing when you telephoned. What did you do?

  بريان: التقيت ممثلين عن القيادة في الصباح. في فترة ما بعد الظهر، عملت على التقرير وكنت على وشك الانتهاء منه عندما اتصلت بي هاتفيا. ماذا فعلت؟

Betsy: Well, at 9 I had a meeting with Ms Anderson. After that, I did some research

. بيتسي: حسنا، في 9 كان لي لقاء مع السيدة أندرسون. بعد ذلك، قمت بعمل بعض البحوث.

 Brian: Sounds like a boring day!

  بريان: يبدو وكأنه كان يوم ممل!

Betsy: Yes, I don't really like doing research. But it needs to be done.

بيتسي: نعم، أنا لا أحب القيام بالبحوث. ولكن لا بد من القيام بها.

Brian: I agree with you on that, no research - no business!

براين: أنا أتفق معك على ذلك، عدم عمل بحث - أي عدم وجود عمل!

Betsy: Tell me about the report. What do you think of it?

بيتسي: أخبرني عن التقرير. ما رأيك في ذلك؟

Brian: I think the report is a good. Tom believes it's good, too.

  بريان: أعتقد أن التقرير جيد. توم أيضا يعتقد أنه جيد.

Betsy: I know that every report you write is excellent.

بيتسي: أنا أعرف أن كل تقرير تكتبه يكون ممتاز.

 Brian: Thank you Betsy, you are always a good friend!

  بريان: شكرا بيتسي، انت دائما صديقا جيدا!
